BOOM! He came crashing to the floor like a ton of bricks…

My client Brian had been preparing for this moment for several weeks…

His goal was to hit 50 straight pushups, so you can just imagine his disappointment when he came just TWO reps short of his goal…

The past 2-weeks leading up to this day, Brian had been working hard in his training and was definitely getting stronger… Yet, something was still missing.

Something that would allow him to dramatically increase his pushups so that he could finally hit that 50 in a row mark…

That night, I went home and developed a 2-week plan for Brian to follow… I wasn’t quite sure how it was going to work…

But by the end of the 2-weeks… The results were SHOCKING…

STEP #1
START WITH A TEST DAY

Before you get started, you want to make sure you have a starting point so that you know exactly how much you were able to increase your pushups in the 14-days.

The goal on test day is simple:

Do as many pushups as you can in a row with PERFECT FORM.

Now… That last part is incredibly important.

You want to make sure that your form is perfect throughout your total number of pushups. If you feel that your form is slipping, then stop.

As I like to say, “It’s better to do 25 perfect form pushups than 50 sloppy pushups.”

In the long run, doing pushups with perfect form brings far more benefit than if you do them with poor form.

So really focus on keeping your back straight, core tight, elbows pushed out at about 45 degrees for each pushup that you do.

After you do you pushups on test day, make sure you write down your number:

STEP #2
FIND YOUR GOAL NUMBER

Now, the best part about this plan that I’ve put together is that you can do it at the END of your workouts in about 5-7 minutes. So…

What you will do next is multiply YOUR number of pushups in a row by 5.

So in Brian’s case, that number would be 48. So that would look like this…

48 Pushups X 5 = 240 Pushups

After doing the equation for yourself, write down YOUR number…

YOUR TOTAL PUSHUPS X 5 = __________

Note: If your pushup total is over 50 repetitions in a row, you will want to keep your pushups to 250-300 reps MAX. Do not go over 300 pushups in a workout. For example, even if your max reps was 75 pushups on your test day, you will NOT be doing more than 300 reps for your workout. Instead your number will be 250-300 pushups for your workouts…[/text_block]

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY TECHNIQUES

It’s time to put it into action. Over the next 2-weeks, you’ll be using 3 different techniques depending on the day…

  1. MAX PUSH
  2. SPORADIC PUSH
  3. REST

Following this format is what’s going to allow you to dramatically increase your pushup totals in the next 2-weeks… Just like Brian did…

After that first test day getting 48 in a row, we started cycling through the Max Push, Sporadic Push, and Rest days…

And after the 2-weeks was up… It was time for test day again…

46… 47… 48… 49… 50…

60… 70… 75…

79 was Brians final rep on the test day. An increase of 31 pushups in just 2-weeks time…

I have to say, I was SHOCKED by his results. Especially because the more pushups you start out with, the harder it can be to increase… After seeing these results…
