Everyone knows how the beginning of the year is the time to make New Year’s Resolutions. We think these are great. But, now that we are halfway through 2018 and this is a perfect time to reassess those resolutions and even make some new ones!
We hear all sorts of resolutions and think setting goals is an important and vital part of improving oneself. But, some goals and resolutions are too rigid or are not worth making.
We do think there are some resolutions that every person should add to their 2018 list!
Here are 5 resolutions that we think everyone should try for the latter half of 2018:
1) Take Time For Self-Care.
-With our busy schedules, social media, and what society says, many people put taking care of themselves on that back burner. At HIITBURN, we believe every person is valuable and taking time to care for yourself well will lead you to living a more full life.
Now, this can look different for every single person. Maybe for you, taking care of yourself means investing in your health and starting a workout program. That is a great way to take care of your health. We have some amazing workout programs for all levels of fitness! They are also short and intense—which fits perfect with busy schedules! Check out HIITBURN Method program HERE.
2) Prioritize Sleep.
-On average, we as a society do not get enough sleep. It seems we just do not have enough time in the day to get everything done that we need to or want to. Sleep usually is the first to be sacrificed. Being sleep deprived is so common, which can lower immunity, alter cognitive processes, slow one’s reaction time, and lengthen recovery time. Prioritizing a healthy amount of sleep and finding a normal sleeping pattern is one of the best things you are do for yourself! We challenge you and want to invite you into making it a goal to get 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Try is for a week and see how much better you function. Make it a habit.
3) Give Grace to Yourself and Others.
-Perfectionism sounds appealing, but can never be achieved. Whether you are trying to be perfect at your job, with your responsibilities, or with your health and fitness journey, we want to invite you into having grace for yourself and those around you. Failing is inevitable—whether big or small—and so we want to say that failing is okay. Dwelling in failure is not though. No need to beat yourself up. Acknowledge where you failed, give grace, and then make choices to improve, learn from it, and take steps forward. Unforgiveness can affect every aspect of your life, and oftentimes you are the one that is dealing with the heaviness of it, rather then the person you are not forgiving. So, take a deep breath. Give grace. Practice forgiveness. And then continue in the right direction! You can only control yourself, so let go of other things and control what you can control!
4) Find an Outlet for Stress.
-We all deal with stress in our lives. Some more then others, but we all should prioritize finding a way to let off some steam. Whether it is going on a walk, setting up a hang out time with some friends, journaling, listening to music, or getting a good sweat in, make sure you find a healthy outlet. When you are able to manage your stress in a healthy way, then you are able to take better control of your life and your decision making.
5) Eat More Veggies.
-Veggies are not always the most popular foods, but they are so essential to your body functioning well! At HIITBURN in our nutritional programs, we try to eat veggies with every meal! We give a variety of options for veggies and think that eating veggies does not have to be a boring and burdensome task! We even have a Green Juice that we drink every morning as an “insurance” to help us get enough veggies every day! Veggies have great vitamins in them, *ADD in 1-2 benefits of veggies”.
