Goal Setting

By Dennis Heenan June 28, 2018

At HIITBURN, we believe in the power of setting goals and going after what you want!

We do this personally with our health and fitness journey. But, we also do this in other aspects of our life: like with relationships, hobbies, and self-care… just to name a few.

One key to effective goal setting that we believe in is to dream big but also dream realistically!

This truly is a delicate balance as you want to make progress, improve, and reach for the stars, but also be realistic with where you are starting, where you want to go, and how long it may take to get there!

To accomplish all of this, you need to set up steps or smaller goals to help successfully get there!

Another helpful tip for goal-setting is to make sure your goals are measurable.

That means: you can measure it and it is time-sensitive.

Here are some questions to think about when beginning the Goal-Setting process:

Where do I want to go?
How am I going to get there?
How am I going to set myself up to succeed?
What steps do I need to take, personally to help push myself?
What are my strengths?
What are areas I want to grow in?

We also want to encourage you to think about long-term goals and short-term goals!

Let us explain…

Long-term goals are more “big-picture” and will take more time, effort and commitment to reach them!

Short-term goals are more “detail-oriented” and can be looked at as stepping-stones to help you reach your long-term goals!

As you can see, your short-term and long-term goals should compliment each other and work together!

As you take some time to really think through your short-term and long-term goals, we want to encourage you that we have some great nutritional and workout programs that can aid in helping you to reach your health and fitness goals!
