Goals to Leave Behind

By Dennis Heenan August 20, 2018

Here at HIITBURN, we love goal setting! We think it is an effective way to push you to go after what you really want! We think goals can be set in all aspects of your life: personal, professional, and with your health and fitness!

But, not all goals are created equal.

Another way to put it, not all goals are actually good or productive.

Today, we want to share three goals that all people should leave behind.

Here they are:

1)Needing to Weigh a Certain Number.

Weighing a certain number on the scale will not bring you happiness. Trust us from experience. We have tried this and it just leaves you feeling unfulfilled. The scale is not the best measure of your progress. On our programs, you will be gaining muscle and losing fat, and the scale cannot differentiate between the two.

We suggest taking progress pictures weekly to help really see the true transformation your body is making! We suggest that you monitor your results through progress photos, how your clothes fit, and your energy levels, how you are sleeping, your confidence, ect!

This strategy works incredibly well, so stick to it!

So, it’s time to “let go” of the lie that “If I weight ______, then I’ll be happy.”

Happiness is an inside job. That’s why we say it is time to throw out that number and work on yourself every day–both health and fitness wise, but also in other ways that will make you happy–like self care!

2)Striving for Perfection.

We all should make an effort to do our very best each day, but perfection is an unattainable.

We have found that striving for perfection will lead you to feeling like a failure. Because you will never achieve it. You will constantly fall short.

In all our workout and nutrition programs, we have flexibility as we want to help you build habits that are sustainable as a lifestyle over time! It is about consistency over time, and also enjoying life! One bad meal or missed workout will not ruin all of your hard work!

3)Doubting Yourself.

We believe you should be your number one fan. Even if no one else believes in you, you should believe in yourself.

Here at HIITBURN, we have a team of people who are here to help you every step of the way with your goals! We believe accountability and community is so important and so we will also be there to cheer you on!

Try adding in just small steps of self-affirmation to help build self-confidence. Celebrate the things you do well and work on loving yourself! Cheer yourself on in your workouts and when you eat healthy! Positivity is contagious, and we have found it makes us want to keep doing our best!

Throughout the year, we run amazing Challenges where we teach more about all of this and how to best properly fuel your body to feel your best, look your best, and reach your goals!  We take our the confusion on what to eat, while you still get to enjoy all the foods you love! No more guilt or shame around food! You also get amazing workouts that bring amazing results along with access to our private facebook group!
