We all have had those days where your workout does not go how you had planned.
Or, maybe even life gets in the way and your workout gets sidelined and you never get to it.
Another scenario we hear about and even face in our own fitness journeys is when you do not perform as well as you had before in a workout.
We want to address this issue and say that it is normal to have off days in the gym.
What we do want to stress is that we do not want you to dwell on this, beat yourself up over it, let it ruin your day, or even let it ruin your next workout.
There is no sense in beating yourself up. The best thing to do is to get back on track and make your next workout your best workout!
We also always recommend that you listen to your body. Sometimes taking an extra rest day is the most beneficial thing you can do!
There are many reasons that you may have had an “off” workout…
Some common ones can be: dyhydration, feeling under the weather, stress, poor sleep quality the night before, inadequate fueling, not an sufficient warmup, ect…
With all that to say, we want to encourage you!
At HIITBURN we truly believe and teach the idea of “Consistency over Time!”
We also believe in balance…. Meaning we do not think you have to workout 7 days a week for hours on end to get results.
We also believe in giving yourself grace.
So, next time you have a bad day in the gym, we want to suggest a few things:
1) Give Yourself Grace. Completing a workout—even if you have to do modifications—is still worth celebrating and a step in the right direction.
2) Take Time to Reflect on How You Felt. Thinking through why the workout may not have gone how you would have liked is important so you can change it or make modifications! Do you need to plan for more sleep? Do you need to drink more water?
3) Make Your Next Workout the Best! We believe one bad workout will not ruin all your hard work. But, we do believe it is about consistency over time. It is okay to have a bad day. But, we do not want you to let it ruin your entire week of workouts. So, identify it was not the best, and then choose to do your best work in the next workout!
We believe in you! We have workouts programs designed for busy schedules and to help you reach all your goals!
