Can Eating More Carbs at Night Increase Results?
This is a common question we get asked all the time.
People want to get the best results they possibly can and there are tons of opinions on how to do that.
People ask us all the time:
“Should I eat my carbs in the morning?”
“Should I eat them at night?”
“Should I avoid carbs altogether?”
We actually believe that carbs are important to allow your body to function at a high level and burn fat, but when you eat them is important too! This is why we do carb cycling and like to eat the majority of our carbs in the evening. Also, carbs are just delicious!
We think eating your carbs later in the day can actually help you in burning more fat and increase your results quicker! Here is why.
Backloading.
First, let me define backloading for you.
Backloading in the health world simply means, “Concentrating on eating most of the day’s carbohydrates in the later hours of the day, and eating less carbohydrates in the beginning of the day.”
Backloading has proven to be an effective tool to help increase results!
Here is why.
Eating complex carbs at night around dinner time allows your body to use that fuel to burn fat while you are sleeping and prime you for the next day. By concentrating on eating protein, veggies, and healthy fats for breakfast and during the day, you are increasing the fat burning hormones’s efficiency in your body!
Also, a large meal in the middle of the day with a lot of carbs can really cause you to feel lethargic, tired, and be less productive. This can lead to mindless snacking, causing you to feel even less energized.
No one wants that!
So give it a try! Have your breakfast be a low carb meal full of protein, veggies, and healthy fats. Do the same for your snacks and lunch. Then for dinner, enjoy some delicious complex carbs like a sweet potato or brown rice with your meal!
It will prepare your body to perform well the next day! And did we mention it helps to increase results? It is a win-win! Oh, and delicious!
