It is not secret that we love HIIT-style workouts!
HIIT stands for “high intensity interval training”. It is our favorite style of workouts for us and our clients and is always what recommend because they are short, challenging, and bring great results!
Within HIIT workouts, we love doing Density-style workouts!
Density interval training is defined as doing as much work as possible within a certain amount of time. You are going as hard as you can and building up your endurance, strength and density! Density training has to do with two factors: volume and duration.
Volume has to do with how many rounds and/or reps you do of the prescribed exercises while duration has to do with the allotted time you do the work in!
So, you may be asking….. “Why is density training so effective?”
Here is why:
1. You get the most out of what you do and in that time.
-Because you are giving your full attention, concentration, and effort within a certain time frame, you will bring results and change because you are working so hard!
2. You are usually doing compound movements—meaning you are working many muscles at the same time! We love complex movements at HIITBURN and think they are great for really getting the most out of your workouts!
3. Your heart rate stays up and less wasted time!
-With all our busy schedules and moving times these days, having short effective workouts is so important! Density training workouts are great because a full workout can take 20-30 minutes. Over time, you will build work capacity—meaning you will see increases in how many rounds and rep you can get done!
